Spanish 21 is a blackjack variant played with a Spanish deck: the four tens are removed from each 48-card deck, while jacks, queens and kings remain. Fewer ten-value cards means fewer natural blackjacks and more busted hands, which raises the house edge considerably on its own.

The rule set exists to give that edge back, and it is unusually generous:

• Your blackjack always wins, even against a dealer blackjack. There is no push on a natural.
• Your 21 always wins against a dealer 21, regardless of how many cards were used.
